BIO

Luis López, born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1996, studied piano at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias. He continued his piano training with Piotr Szychowski and studied chamber music with Michal Francuz at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan, Poland, where he completed his Master's studies with Distinction

Ha recibido clases magistrales con destacados pianistas como María Joao Pires, Guillermo González, Gustavo Díaz Jerez, Iván Martín, Roberta Bambace, Wolfgang Wagenhäuser, Massimiliano Mainolfi y Teruyuki Okada. Como solista, ha interpretado diversos conciertos de piano bajo la dirección de directores como Mario Lamberto, José María Vicente, David González, Mauro Fariña, entre otros. López ha actuado en diversas salas de Europa, Estados Unidos y Japón, incluyendo el Instituto Cervantes de Tokio (Japón), Hachinohe Concert Hall (Japón), Palazzo Taffini (Italia), Aula Nova (Poznan, Polonia) y la Universidad Vytautas Magnus (Lituania). Además, ha participado en festivales de música como los Sunday Concert Recitals en Manhattan, Nueva York; 8º Memorial Halina Czerny-Stefańska en Japón; European Music Festival en Hagen, Alemania; Bechstein Piano Recital Series en Reino Unido; Festival Pianístico di Primavera en Cuneo, Italia, entre otros.

López has worked as a trainee professor in the piano and chamber music department at the G. Verdi Conservatory of Music in Turin, Italy. In addition to his career as a performer and academic studies, he has completed a Master’s in Cultural and Creative Industries Management at the Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes.

Throughout his career, López has received several honors in his studies, earning High Distinction in both chamber music and solo piano. He has also received international recognition, including a Latin GRAMMY nomination for Best Classical Album in 2023, an Honorable Mention at the International Instrumental Performance Competition in Łódź, Third Prize at the OPUS 2021 International Music Competition in Kraków, Second Prize at the 14th Luigi Cerritelli International Music Competition in Milan, Italy, and an Honorable Mention at the Malopolska International Music Competition – Society for the Promotion of Young Artists in Kraków.

Since 2023, he has been part of the roster of artists at Anaga Classics, with whom he recorded his first CD: Albéniz & Granados, Piano Works. This album was nominated for Best Classical Album at the 2023 Latin GRAMMYs and was selected to compete for a nomination in the Best Classical Instrumental Solo category the same year.
